School Holiday : The festival of Diwali is just around the corner, and people have started heading home to celebrate. Several states have already announced school holidays, while in some states, schools will remain open until Friday. Overall, students across the country will enjoy three to four days of holidays during Diwali. From Uttar Pradesh to Bihar, Rajasthan, and Delhi-NCR, children will get a long break to celebrate the festival. Let’s take a look at how long the Diwali holidays are in each state and when schools will reopen.

Holidays begin in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government had already announced that schools will remain closed from October 13 to October 24 for Diwali. The education department issued detailed guidelines regarding this. Schools across the state will reopen on October 25, meaning students in Rajasthan will enjoy nearly two weeks of holidays.

When will schools close in Uttar Pradesh?

In Uttar Pradesh, school holidays will begin on October 20. Students will get three days of holidays after Diwali, from October 20 to October 23. Including Sunday, October 19, children in UP will enjoy a total of five days off.

Five-day holiday in Haryana

Like Uttar Pradesh, schools in Haryana will also remain closed for five days — from October 19 to October 23. Students in the state are getting a long festive break to celebrate Diwali with their families.

Extended holidays in Bihar

In Bihar, apart from Diwali, the Chhath festival is also celebrated, which means students will enjoy a longer holiday period. Schools in Bihar will remain closed from October 20 to October 29. Including Sundays, students here will get about 10 days of holidays.

School holidays in Delhi-NCR

In the national capital Delhi, schools will also remain closed for Diwali. The holiday period is expected to be from October 20 to October 24. In Noida, schools will be closed from October 20 to 23, and in Gurugram, schools will also remain closed during these four days. This gives students in Delhi-NCR a good break to celebrate the festival of lights with their families and friends.
