Public Holiday : Long Diwali Holidays Announced in Jammu and Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir government has made this big decision keeping the upcoming festivals in mind. According to an order issued by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, all government and private schools up to the higher secondary level in the Jammu division will remain closed from October 19 to November 2. These holidays cover major festivals like Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, and several other local celebrations.

The order, issued by the Personal Officer, clearly states that all educational institutions will remain closed during this period and will reopen on November 3. Students will get a chance to fully enjoy this long break, as it coincides with a series of important festivals across the region.

5–6 Days of Holidays in Uttar Pradesh

Students in Uttar Pradesh will also enjoy a relatively long Diwali break. According to the official school holiday list, October 20 to October 23 will be declared as holidays. Since October 19 falls on a Sunday, schools will effectively remain closed for five to six consecutive days.

In some districts like Siddharthnagar, local authorities have announced an additional holiday on October 18, making it a total of six days of fun. Many private schools have also scheduled similar vacations, filling the entire state with Diwali excitement.

Exam Dates to Be Rescheduled

The Directorate of School Education has also clarified that schools with exams scheduled in the last week of October will postpone them temporarily. The new exam dates will be announced once the holidays are over. Students have been advised to keep checking their school websites and notice boards for the latest updates.
