Most people travel by Delhi Metro, and recently there has been a major change in the metro’s schedule. It’s important for regular metro commuters to know about this update, as it will be quite beneficial for them.
Last Metro Train Timing –
On the occasion of Diwali, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced changes in metro service timings for the convenience of passengers. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on October 20, 2025. On the day of the festival, the last metro train from all terminal stations will depart at 10:00 PM. This change also applies to the Airport Express Line.
Metro Will Operate Normally During the Day –
According to the DMRC, metro services will operate normally throughout the day on Diwali. However, at night, the last metro train will run one hour earlier than usual. On regular days, the final train operates until 11:00 PM.
DMRC has appealed to passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and reach the stations on time, keeping this change in mind.
DMRC’s Official Statement –
DMRC also informed that along with metro services, the schedule of feeder bus services will also undergo slight changes on Diwali night. On some routes, bus services will end earlier than usual.
Pollution Increases During Diwali –
During Diwali, pollution levels in Delhi rise significantly, which leads to an increase in the number of metro passengers. In recent days, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi-NCR has reached the “severe” category. Due to this, people are preferring public transport over private vehicles. DMRC stated that all necessary measures have been taken to manage pollution and crowd control effectively.
Check Metro Timing Before Travel –
Passengers are advised to check the updated metro timings on the official DMRC website or DMRC’s social media handles before traveling on Diwali. Doing so will help avoid any inconvenience during the festive day.
